Something I've noticed tweaked on FM2007 are the set-pieces during matches; there seems to finally be that element of realism that means that we have a fighting chance of scoring regularly from corners and the like- obviously this is manna from heaven when you're managing a side who's only gifts are a winger who can just about take corners, and two 6'6 central defenders. I also think that due to that old chestnut of the man on the edge of the box, everyone else on the far post trick, that set-piece discussion has been sadly lacking from these fora in recent times.
It's good to see that slinging the ball in towards the near post for a big central defender is now a viable attacking policy, as is sending said clogger up front for long throw-ins.
Anyway, my point is this. Free kicks and corners what do you good folks do, and how efficient is it?
I'm a big fan of the near post inswinger and flick on personally, especially when combined with a striker blocking the goalkeeper off, and a couple of people attacking the far post.
So yes, give me your tired masses yearning to be fed with delightful crosses, and lets talk set-pieces.
