after failing miserably with AZ, trying to implement and tweak
all the good FM2006 tactics I had left, and after reading all
the good threads on tactics for 2007 (you know the ones...) I
decided to start a new game with Ajax, with my only goal
being to build a good 4-3-3 tactic, and so far, this is
actually working out fantastic. I have played almost 20 games
now, won 13, drew 7, scoring 49, conceding 14. Possession stats
off 60/65 %, passing and tackling the same, and tackling and
crossing depending on the oppossition, but over 50% for the
least.
But now I want to start a new two tactic system and I think I
can use all the help I can get there, but before I'll get
into that, here's the 4-3-3 I made descriped in detail:
Marking is all non-ticked, thus on Zonal,
due to Team Instructions.
Tight Marking is something I don't use,
unless Opposition might require that.
No one is given a Free Role.
And Only my MCd and FC can Hold Up Ball.
Feel Free to use, but remember
that all Feedback, Comments, Suggestions and Help is welcome
These settings really make you play good football, but it is,
of course, in need of that sharp edge, so I'll be testing some
things out to improve this like:
-Playmaker settings
-Targetman settings
-The use of a PM or TM
-Narrowing the Width and Shortening/Lenghtening the Passing Style
and anything else anyone might come up with.
I'll report back on this as soon as I start trying them, which will
probably be after I finish this season, then try it again with the
two tactic system.
And that's my original problem, creating a two tactic system.
I wanna use two different 4-3-3's, without changing too much,
making one slightly more attacking than this one, and the other
more defensive.
But we'll see about that in time...
If you set the tactic up game by game, rather than by home and away, you don't ever need 2 tactics. I've never understood why people have felt the need for 2 tactics, when you can achieve that with just 1.
Looks interesting though, although you seem to conceed a few goals for such a weak league. Do you find your midfield and defence go for the same balls by any chance?

So you mean I keep one tactic, altering that according to oppossition and home/away conditions?
And for the gaosl against record, well, I hope to get better avergae there when narrowing play etc.
Erm, damn, I just downloaded WSM and loaded my Ajax game in there, then it saved automatically, and it won't open anymore in FM, hehe.
So I'll start a new game right now, and let you know what tactics I'll be using.
Won't be too much difference between the original one.
