I have a dream. a dream i can really interact with my training regime & tactical approach.
with all due respect to current approach implementerd by the si games it's still limited. you can't convey all your thoughts onto the pitch. the match engine is perfect as far as im concerened. my issue is that i actually want to have the option of watching my players training. not all of it ofcource. but basically the 5-a side games. instruct players on how i want thiem to move the ball along the pitch. all i can do at teh moment is that i want to get the players in midfield to overlap & swap positions not only wingers swapping positions. kinda like UNITED in alex's golden days. i want the defensive midfielder to probe forward while having my right winger as a second striker & my left striker supporting the midfield !!
i want to start diamond & triangular passing plays, i want to approach the game as arsene wenger does. i want to pass the ball & reach the 91% posession ( it happened this season )
but i'm straped. one of my wishes is to obtain a way to create set plays. like in real life. i want a player to jump over the ball & the player just pushes the ball into the run of schoels or riise or toure so he can SMACK it into the open net.
i know this is very very VERY difficult to implement. but imagine the possibility
the possibilty to watch your attacking play in trainig & tweak it. create plays ( like a 1-2-3 pass to open the defence up ). imagine the level of realism this would provide. you'd feel like a morinho when a play you created really works on pitch instead of feeling liek a ranieri and lettiing the player improvise while u set the guide lines.
the possibilites are endless. a striker with low confidence you can watch him train on his finishing & give him some tips.
i know that it's all just a dream , but think of it !
what's better than really transfering your tactical thoughts & theories and watch them succed or fail. watch that counted attakc move you trained your players & watched them do in trainig actually work & eins you a match. or a setplay that secures you the 3 points in a very even match.
This option has been mentioned before and indeed could be a good option, as long as it wasnt mandatory. The tactics and training input required is a delicate balance between those who want to spend hours on them tweaking and adjusting and those who want to hit continue all the time. It is just about right at the moment but other options that could be done, if you were interested, are a good idea.
the easiest way to realise this is by giving a manager multiple tactical foramtions instead of just the player runs.
it would be like multiple tactical layers. liek attacking fomration, defensive formaiton, closing down formation & counter attack formation.
then add a feature of when the player would start pressuring the ball.
then build on that to get a way to let the manager train players to really apply his tactical approach in passing onto the pitch.
how i see this starting. is by showing the tactical formation and asking the user to state which player will start with the ball then the rest is similar to flahs animations. choosing frames with player movment & passing. do u get my vision.
adding a training factor, it would take N training sessions to really perfect the play ( which could turn out to be succesful of a total failure ), surely the N number of weeks depends on the complixity of the play ( number of frames )
the same would be done with defensive plays & set pieces.

The training system must be among the hardest things to structure, because it needs to be friendly for the casual gamers, or "Continue pushers" as their now being called. Maybe if the traing was made very detailed and in depth, with an option of allowing the Assisstant to take training for those "conntinue pushers".
Watching some aspects of players training certainly adds to the realism and excitement to the game. IRL managers isn't going to just use some new and unfamiliar formation on the pitch without prior testing during training first. So would be good to be able to watch how our players react to that formation in training.
Or alternatively, SI should just implement the idea of training formations.
why, i had the same dream as u ever since man utd starting playing with their confusing wingers style. haha, but i doubt FM will ever reach such a tactical standard.
watchjing your players train will give you more indepth feedback about thier qualities & weaknesses. and the ability to create plays pushes the limit WAY above the current one.
i know this means a whole rehaul of the current match system, but if this could be reialzed then the sky is the limit. the feeling of you interpreting your tactical approach onto the pitch & watch the players decode your plays & hard worked systems in training into winning matches is undescribable. but as i said
