Hi,

Ive never ever posted a tactic on the forum before as i have never designed one! Ive been having an absolute nightmare on FM07 until now!!!!! But can 4-1-5 really be the way forward.

Im a huge Spurs fan & have already tried to be succesful many times on FM07 with them, all have ended in failure.

I started a game 2nite & had a pretty average start, i decided that i was probably not going to save the game & tried a MAD formation. You see the problem i have had is that i just do not score goals, hence the reason i went 5 upfront! the results were crazy! i thought i was seeing things! If i new how to upload images i would but 4 now u will have to take my word!

The Formation was :- Robbinson in Goal of course, Flat back 4 of Van der Borre, Baines, Gardner & Dawson, 1 Man Central Midfield of King, Malbranque right Attacking Midfield, Ziegler left Attacking Midfield & Defoe, Mido & Berbatov Through the middle!

My 4 results using the formation :-

Portsmouth (H) Won 4 - 0
Fulham (A) Won 4 - 0
Sparta Prague (A) Won 3 - 0
Man City (H) Won 2 - 0

Id just like to say before anyone decides to slate this topic, I do understand that 4 results don't make this a good formation & especially 4 results against very average teams!

What i would like to say is that if anyone would like to try this formation I am more than happy to e-mail it to them. I would like to see if it works 4 u!

well it's intriguing if it's successful over a season. I'd love to see a season's worth of results.

are you playing wide, narrow, short or long passing?

This takes the 5-0-5 theory to the extremes, eh?

I must admit, on FM06 I had a formation which was set up to be basically five at the back, 5 up front with a direct passing game and quick counter attacks. It can work, particularly against bigger teams.

In this case, you may need to drag a striker back to AM and your wingers back a position to play decent football against better teams, but it looks the basis of a sound tactic - if you can get it to keep tight at the back...

I've used something simliar, basically the same as you but instead of AML/AMR I have 2 AMC's. I had to use barrows though to get it solid, have you found the same?

Thanks for your replies everyone. I should have the season complete by the weekend & i will let you know how i get on!

golden_goal - I use long Ball style to get it to the Strikers quickly. I play an attacking mentality & i don't play counter attack. Taking all of this into consideration i cant believe i have not conceded yet!

Millie & Cleon - Your definately right, against the bigger teams i could struggle. Both my AML & AMR both make Farrows aswell as my full backs. After watchin my games it seems as though Ledley king is the key. in the 4 games he has 3 MOM awards. he wins everything in the air in the centre & has even popped up with a few goals. How successfull was your 5-0-5? did u win many trophy's?

Well, this was FM06, and I've not tried to impliment it fully in 07 yet. I played 3CBs, 2DMs at the back, then two FBs running to AM and an AM running to FC and two FCs with side arrows.

It won me the Romanian league, the Ukranian league and a small amout of Champions League success (qualifying was hard enough ). On my last 06 save I was snapped up by Shakhtar who had money coming out of their ears, but obviously no reputation. I spent two years there and at the moment haven't lost on Ukranian soil (league or Europe).

I played a similar system which got promotion with Walsall, but little else. Basically, it could do away with any fancy midfield play. I was attacking or I was defending. Simple play, but plenty of goals. It was surprisingly defensively tight.
