Default What shall I spend my wages on?

Don't recall seeing this on here before, so here's my idea: in the game as a manager you are paid wages. As far as I know there is no real reward for getting a higher wage, in fact you may as well ask for the lowest wages so as not to drain money from your club. How about some sort of system to reward you for your cumulative earnings? True, lower league managers wouldn't get the star prize but the higher up you go, the better the rewards. A few suggestions for reqards:

- Unlock a new game mode/option
-'Behind the scenes' bonus videos etc.
- New skins
- Special additions to your manager profile
- A code that entitles you to beta test the next version

Anyone got any bright ideas?

I think that sort of stuff is all a bit too "arcadey" for the type of game we make.

Been discussed many times already.

I'd prepare for a load of caustic replies...

Generally the feeling is that most people do not want this kind of stuff in the game and if that's what you want from your game, maybe you should try one of the other titles.

Not sure how I feel. I wouldn't want it myself, but if it's optional, then what harm could it do, if players want it?

the higher your wages the less likely the club are to sack you at short notice.

i would like a behind the scenes bonus video because i seem to remember hearing that valve have done that with their half life games when you complte it and then play again?

a cod that entitles you to beta test is not really a good idea because i'd presume that SI want to vet the potential beta testers themselves not to mention the fact that you could potentially have 30,000 people ENTITLED to beta test.

no point in new skins as you can just download new ones anyway.

I don't wish to seem caustic. At least the idea seems thought-through and the post id well-constructed. But I fee Ter's comment says it all, and I'm relieved to see someone at SI saying they don't want to go down this route.

Hope that didn't come across as caustic!

As Ter said.

Takes away some of the simulation aspect.

I have to say I agree with all the comments above, and to be honest I wouldn't have thought they would fit with the general ethos of the game as Ter says. But some reward would be a nice touch. How about...buy a stake in club and become owner manager? Name a stadium after you (instead of how it is currently)? Er, take on an extreme manager personality like Mourinho? Become president of UEFA/FIFA? Someone help please!

It has been suggested many times, and shot down everytime pretty much. For me it would make the game too 'gimmicky', and as said wages do serve a purpose in regards to being approached by other clubs,

The reason this sort of thing gets added to games is often to extend the life of the game. It gives you something to carry on playing for. FM isn't like this. It's not a game that ends at some point, you can carry on as long as you like, or your computer permits.

It also seems too gimmicky, and I really don't see it adding anything to the game.
