I think you pronounce it Jean "deux"(as in two) Makoun

The II just means he was named after his father, so you'd only need to say Jean Makoun, or formally, Jean Deux Makoun.

Hmmm....good question. Could be that II is numeric and that it is "seconde" (I don't speak French, so bear with me....)

Or that it's "Il" (a bit like island in French)
