but if i replace the team ID with that of the U21 team or u19 team for example, it doesnt work. can it be done? ive made sure the ID number is correct

The u-21 and u-19 squads (for club and nation) are assigned IDs randomly upon each new game.

You need to turn on unique IDs within your saved game and note the ID for the u-21 and u-19 squads, exit the game, modify the config file appropriately and then load your saved gama again. This should work (you won't, I don't think, need to do this every time - only for each saved game you have).

thats a ballache.

i ve done flags for each nation as their backgrounds screen, but i guess everytime someone starts a new game, if they have the file, they wont be able to see the picture for the u21 teams etc

is there any way to get a background for an u21 - so that if i put my flags up on the net everyone can get them, rather than just on the full nation screen?

What Fedgin said really.

I think the U21 teams are generated and aren't in the database so will get a random unique ID every time you start the game depending on what leagues/database size you select.

any idea if it's possible to do something for 2006 so that the U21 (and reserve team) numbers are always the same? cos it's a pain in the a*se at the moment...

maybe instead of them having a random id number, make the id number 1000000000000 + (parent team number) ?
