I've got some major bugs in my game. I'm playing in Switzerland but the fixtures are not shown in the club screen. They're all being played but are not shown. Another problem is that when I try to view the Cup competition screen the game closes to the desktop...

I've got 5.0.5 patch. Have done some serious editing in the official pregame editor to the league but I've done it all before and it has worked ok. But now I've done editing for the first time in Switzerland, and it comes up with all these problems. What can I do?

I believe that this can be remedied by buying the new game.

Yes. I think that should fix it!

I think you've done an edit too far. Restore the db (from the backup you should have made) and try again.

There's no such thing as an edit too far. There is however, such a thing as editing something wrong.

Have you created a new team? This problem sounds like the team's nation isn't set to Switzerland. That might cause it to not show the fixtures on the fixtures screen.

I think the free transfers db fiasco last year proved my point.

I've yet to try it this year however as my CD won't install!

It was a bug in the game, it was nothing to do with editing one too many things. Plus, I'd hardly call it a fiasco.

Post in PC Support if you're having problems.

I posted the problem but fixed it myself. It was a dodgy uninstall of one of the test builds.

I might give the free transfers db thing another try some time...

I've created dozens of new teams actually and set them up in the Swiss lower leagues that I've "reorganized" to make my own playable Estonian league, actually. I just checked in the editor the nationalities of the teams are correct. I also changed the TLA's of both Switzerland and Estonia. Switzerland originally also has U19 leagues, so I added U19 teams and put them in these U19 leagues.

I must've done something wrong, just like you said, but unfortunately I've got no idea what it might be. Done it all before, I've replaced the Slovakian league with the Estonian league, but that proved to be "short-sighted" because the Slovak league has a very nasty rule of allowing only 4 foreigners, so I thought the Swiss league structures would suit best but now I've run into these problems unfortunately.

Sorry for the long post but what can I do really?

You could try again, bit by bit (noting down what works etc) and see if you can narrow it down. Otherwise I really can't think of anything to check.

So the teams are definately all of the same nationality as the competition? (Swiss?)

Only the league structure is Swiss (as the Estonian league is not playable by default). So the teams in the original Swiss leagues are now true Estonian teams and the league nationalities are all Estonian and by that the Swiss clubs are in the original Estonian league clubs list and the Estonian league nationalities changed into Switzerland and with lots of Swiss lower league clubs without a division. In short: I've replaced the Swiss league with the Estonian league but the league has "original Swiss league structure".

So the answer is yes. Checked it. I changed the league nationalities before swapping any teams.
