Default I add players to the database and..
I like to add myFootball team to FM so I replace a team and fiddle with all the attributes for the team etc and then create the NEW players to the team.
I would Like to keep the changes as a stand alone.... ie when say a update db comes out I would like to place MY teams data into it. is it possible and how?

So what I'm asking is, can I create a mini DB and paste it into a UPDATE DB etc

No. You can't do that. You would have to do it manually.
