Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Tried this and works wonders defend wise, but I prefer setting them as SWR/L with farrows, makes for better attack flow.

Cheers, R.

Dont you find they struggle to cope with balls down the wing with using farrows?

What in the world is a SWR/L ? You play with 2 Sweepers? Ah I see now you may them into Sweepers...pull them down deeper that is and stick farrows.

Might try this. Buxton , Cleon, Rashidi1 why do you think this is effective?

Stops the wingers going past my fullback and helps them stay in position with the central defenders. Cuts the balls played over the top down the flanks too I found.

Excellent. I think this would be ideal if combined with a high defensive line?

Of course you would need your fullbacks to posses great pace, anticipation etc

I find it kind of ironic that people playing standard 4-4-2 have problems with wingers getting past on the sides when us playing 3-5-2 is having problems with through balls

Not really, since they are still on low mentality (10ish) with Tigh Marking, FWR Mixed, and Cross From Deep.

Well, the game calls them Sweepers, and since Full Sweepers sounds a bit odd, I just called them Sweepers Right and Left...

I've been using barrows on my fullbacks for my defensive tactic and it appears to be working well. I will try it out with my other 3 tactics and see if it can help me out defensively with them.
