So this is my problem: I finished my 3rd season with West Ham winning the Prem and CL. Needed a new challenge, so I moved to Man U after they finished their season in 6th place (!)
After one season, I managed to finish only 4th, but brought in some really good players in the off-season. Now, after 20 games, I am in second place, 1 point behind Arsenal, 1 point ahead of Chelsea and West Ham. Not bad right??
Well the truth is, it's been a crazy season and I should be up by at least 10 points on all those top teams. Why? Because I beat them all easily (3-0 away at Chelsea and Arsenal, and 3-1 at home vs West Ham), but I lose or tie against the bottom teams!
These last 6 games to use as an example: 3-1 vs West Ham, then lose 2-1 away to Pompey. 3-0 vs Chelsea, then 88th minute equalizer at home vs Sunderland (finished 3-3!). 3-0 vs Arsenal, then came from behind again to get a 2-2 draw at home against Fulham. And you can also count the 7th game in this stretch, even though I beat Man City, but it came in the 92nd minute (1-0).
What gives??!
And these games where I drop points vs the "little guys" are all different - sometimes I dominate but just can't score even though I outshoot the opponent 15-to-3, and other times I just get donwright outplayed by weak teams (and at home!)
I play an attacking 4-5-1 both away and home (same one I used with West Ham and had great success). This is my lineup:
GK: Craig Gordon
DL: Baines
DC: Steven Taylor
DC: Sergio Ramos
DR: Neville
DMC: Carrick
ML: Massimo Bonnani
MC: Keiren Lee
MR: Maxi Rodriguez
AMC: Sherman Cardenas
FC: Wayne Rooney
Any help would be great! I know this is the tactics page, but if better players is what I need - don't hesitate to recommend. But honestly, I have a feeling it's my tactics against these lesser teams.
So if anyone has any suggestions, or has experienced this in the past - this is the place to speak up!
