I have never posted on this forum before but I just wanted to thank you Shiekh. My QPR team that was tipped for relegation in season 1, got promoted to the Premier league at the first attempt. I have now just beaten Liverpool in the Premier League. (P6 W2 L4), but I have a squad that has no right beiong in the Premier league anyway.

Nonleague, i think your tactic is underated here... it's simply the best in FM2007, no doubts about that... as i said before, my team is reallly cheap, and i was promoted easily... right now, i'm 23 games unbeaten, wich is just amazing... let's see how that works in a higher division, against stronger teams. But i trust in the tactic! |

Yes, I too tbh think that your main tactic is the most solid of them all but its just me, I could be wrong.

I have a few questions about your instructions and why you've chosen them.
1. Why have so few on through balls?
2. Why does your striker have high CF? Won't that make him roam too much?
3. "Easy tackling", does it really make a difference in player performance?
4. Hold up ball - Why ? Never really had any use for it myself.

No, but im gonna try it out as soon as the patch comes out. I put FM2007 on ice when I looked at the changelists to the matchengine  .
Now I'm just trying to understand the logic behind the different tactics to learn how to improve my own. (the whole "no point in reinventing the wheel" thingy) Problem is, logic hasn't always be the best choice in the champman series. Take for example in FM2005 I had to set my 3-5-2 to play trough the middle and play narrow to make my wingers play to their best ability hehe.

Hi just read the thread and sounds a very promising tactic, I'm going to have a play with the set pieces instructions then give it a whirl as Swindon. Just one point do you find that the fact your actual formation is not symmetrical helps to confuse the AI

Barreirense, a broken and weak portuguese team, from third division (Second Division B). 23 games unbeaten, and in 15 of them i don't suffered goals... now i'm starting my season, in second division... with ZERO euros for hire someone, ehehehehehe... let's see what happen.

Oh, i only make one change in the tactic: in "Team Instructions", i change "Target Man Supply" to "mixed". That's all. And when i'm in some trouble to score, i give arrows to the wingbacks... nothing more than that.

Decided to start a game with Grays in the Conference in the end, have got a pretty average conference squad and signed 3 pretty decent players for conference level. I revamped the set piece instructions before starting but got off to a slow start which i'm putting down to a bedding in period, however since mid september I've been really impressed with the tactic and now after 30 games i'm in second place and only 4 points behind Woking with a game in hand. My teams brilliant going forward, top scorers in the division, they look a bit shaky at the back at times but my defenders are poor and my keepers are atrocious, have conceded 32 in 30 games but can probably put 10 of those down to goalkeeping howlers. Overall though its a really impressive tactic and i'd definitely reccomend it as the best on these forums and believe me i've tried plenty of them, I have only used the away tactic as i figured my pathetic defenders needed as much protection as possible. Thanks nonleague you've certainly put the enjoyment back in the game for me as i was getting so frustrated with inconsistent tactics, I'll keep you posted with my progress.
Top bloke!!!
