I would be more likely to fit a player into a system based on preferred moves than amend tactics. ie target man with 'plays with back to goal' rather than one without.

Plays with back to goal sounds like Ian Rush...the kind of player that likes to hold up ball to and links up with other people. If his balance and agility are good then he'd be very good in the box I reckon.

If I'm using a system with a playmaker i tend to look for 'dictates tempo' in the preffered moves
