I'm playing using the latest weegie update.....so has any body else endured this challenge and if so how did you get on? Who did you sign? What formations did you all use? What tactics did you employ? You start with 4M to spend so spend wisely and you could just be a dark horse.

I hope more people have managed Hull City if so please share...

Mine so far....i have started awfully, currently sitting just above relegation with 10 points from, 1 win, 7 draws and 5 losses. I am playing a flat 442, defensive playing on the counter yet i still ship goals for fun. First home game of the campaign i lost 2-6 to Southampton :thdn:. I also am out of the carling cup, with a first round defeat to Bradford City of league 2 fame. But lets not get down beat...we shall turn the corner.

Im playing Hull City game atm, and its really great, though i just lost first match in Premiership 3-4 to Arsenal.

I dont really like any unofficial updates so im playing clean version with latest updates - 7.0.2
Started with 2M transfer budget, sold dead wood and not needed players to lighten my wage budget. Also, at the very beginning of the season i signed as many 4-5 star free coaches as i could, paid small compensations for few. Also...quality scouts with JCA and JPA at least 16. I was going to use my 4-4-2 tactics (home & away modifications) using target man...but...first problems occured. Eddie Johnson wasnt interested in joining my club, the same with Steffen Iversen. So, i had to convert it to 4-4-2 with 2 fast strikers.

My team for the championship season was:

GK: Janukiewicz (brillant, 40k bargain off Slask Wroclaw) still 1st GK

RB: Darren Barr - brought from Falkirk for 110k iirc

DL: Dawson - was playing great, never really let me down, hes backup now as i've got Bale

DC: Damien Delaney - solid and reliable, sold to Celtic at the end of 1st season for 2M

DC: Didier Digard - class act

MC: (defensive) Danny Szetela - was playing absolutely brillant, now taking the interest of bigger clubs like Celtic, Everton, Aston Villa, et.

MC: (offensive) Arnulfo Valentierra - 31yo playmaker, set pieces specialist, was a key player in my team, loads of assists and over 15 goals! He scored many vital goals in our outstanding Carling Cup success.

AML: Rene Mihelic - bargain buy, slovenian, paid 100k or so, made many goals and scored a few also. At the end of season felt into some health problems and injurned constantly.

AMR: Jose Sosa - couldn't believe he signed for me rejecting offers from Deportivo and some other better club. Offered him high contract as a key player status. Now hes valued at 5M and Chelski and Milan interested.

FC: Charles Andre - Doudin - quality player, what to say, scored 30 goals.

FC: Salas - not the chilean one but Ecuadorian iirc, very good player at least in championship, scored 25 goals.

I was playing very well from the beginning lying in 1-3 position in december when my chairman asked for a High Profile Player!!! I had around 650k to spend but bank balance was satisfying around 3-4M so i tried again and bid for Eddie Johnson...and...he accepted my 10k pw offer!!! Signed Eddie and went back to my 4-4-2 tactics using Target Man and boy...was it clever ??? We beat Arsenal in Carling Cup 4-2 and finally lifted the trophy after 3-1 win over West Brom in the final! We won the championship and Eddie Johnson scored 24 goals in 17 games as a TM

Oh, my scouts found a few talents which i bought:

Maguire AMRC from QPR - has a potential to be twice as Jose Sosa - definite purchase - he looks class atm even though hes 17yo

Chris Clements MC - has a potential to be leading Premiership midfielder - buy for any cost. Paid Crewe 110k iirc.

Josh Wright from Charlton - definite purchase.

Now started the 2nd season, i'll prepare some screenies later to let you know about my transfers activity etc
