Im not sure if this is just me being weird or if this is the case for a lot of people but I keep starting game after game without feeling for lack of a better word inspired. Ive lost track of the amount of games I've started and quit (part of this is just me being an impatient, rubbish manager) despite starting out ok just because the team i was just didn't grab my attention.
Anyway enough rambling, I was just hopeful somebody could recommend a good team for me to be? Nobody too good, i want a sense of achievement if I manage to do well but also not too bad as im not very good at this game. A fair amount of money wouldn't go amiss either. Any suggestions? Ive been all the usual candidates such as Atletico, Man C, Villa, Newcastle Fiorentina etc. Plus many, many more besides. I was thinking portsmouth/villarreal. Has anyone had any experiences of either of these - positive or negative?

never been Portsmouth, but i imagine there quite good. Rich status, and players such as Utaka, Campbell, James. Good base, easy to build on, and probably a large-ish transfer budget!

yeh i agree with arsenal_2111 portsmouth are a great team with a good transfer budget and with great players and with enough time and money spend on good players you can get them in in the champions league

Why not try the mid-range teams?

Frankfurt, Real Betis, Stade Rennais etc etc

Juventus - Really fun, lots of young talent and the board don't sell all your players :p

Some other teams - Lyon, Sporting, Porto, Ajax, Fenerbache, Besiktas!

Ive been juventus before, had a good time with them actually. Came 2nd first season, miles off the top as Inter ran away with it but i was happy. Then i had a disaster of a start 2nd season. This always happens to me. Good first season, bad start to the 2nd and then because expectations are so high (mine not the board) i get annoyed when my team doesnt live up to them. I need some way to make me stick it out when the times arent so great. African nations is a good point. I had enough trouble at newcastle, i drea to think what portsmouth would be like.

I was doing that myself, until i read the Lyon thread, and that gave me the idea to give them ago.

Honestly, if your struggling to find a team to manage, go for Lyon, its great fun.

Obvoiusly im going to say Lyon, but you might think its "too easy" even tho I would disagree.

Perhaps try Udinese or Parlemo in Italy? Or A.Madrid in spain, altho I must admit I don't know how much money you get to spend
