I actually got my copy a while back and running patch-less. True, closing down issue is annoying, but I've managed to work around it somewhat. AI teams also face the same issue, so fair play, in a twisted sort of way.

It plays fine out of the box for me. I'm eagerly awaiting the patch but meanwhile I'm still having fun.

I thought that we would get more money at the start of a new season that you play, like i am with man utd, and the money i had before the update beta patch was £44.4 Million and now it is still the same on the update new patch, i thought that we would get more than that, it is like when you accept the terms that the board give you at the start of the game where you can be the winner or title challenger, if you accept winner you get £12 million or if you accept title challenger you get £10 million, and i thought that you would get more.

rcallini, I haven't started the game that I think will be my "long-term-career-game", but I have started a game in Iceland and am enjoying that, with the beta patch.

There are a few issues with the beta patch, but at least the game is now playable...sort of.

Obviously I don't spend as much time on FM08 as I have spent on playing FM07 right after the release date...mainly due to bugs.

As for now I play FM08 for about 3-4 hours every week and am waiting for a proper patch and for GenieScout (no, it's not cheating, I use it mainly to see if a player i'm interested in is in my transfer budget range...what's the point of wasting two weeks during the transfer window trying to sign someone who is worth £2 mln and won't sell for less than £20 mln + clauses - Igor Akinfeev, CSKA goalie?)

Yeah i think that's the key, not to get too attached to your current game whilst there is a patch in the pipeline.
