The problem with a feature like this is that it you can't see a direct correlation between your action (complaining or not complaining) and future events (getting more/fewer call going against you). That, in and of itself, is very realistic, assuming that your actions have any impact at all. Unfortunately, unless SI tells you what that impact is, you begin to sense that there isn't any.
OTOH, if SI does tell you the impact, it becomes one more thing that you can choose to do or not do based on an outcome that you know has been predetermined, which immediately makes the feature less realistic.
The only thing I can say about it is that my experience has been that the more I say, "the referee got the call right", the more the game seems to tolerate my occasional outbursts at the officials. Also, how you respond could have an effect on team morale in the short term, depending on the personalities of the players.
I'd like it a lot if SI would let us know that responding to these situations can have an impact on the game, without telling us what that impact is.
