How about a really radical shift for FM 2009?

The possibility for you to take on a role as other staff during the game, i.e. become an assistant manager or coach.

Clearly many people would rather just be the manager but I for one would be intrigued to have a go in a different role. Many managers do take on other roles while unemployed, especially at a lower level.

I'm no expert on computers, but given how these roles already exist in the game, I wouldn't imagine it would be that hard to set up a playable situation, probably it would be easier for assistants and scouts than coaches and physios.

So, my challenge to SI is this, how about doing some kind of market test for this (obviously no point in doing it if no one other than me cares) and then if it is popular try incorporating it.

Would anyone else be interested in this?

sadly this game is called football manager, not 'other roles in a footy club manager'

i see your point but i don' think it will ever happen. SI would be forever releasing patches to fix bugs. eg, physio doing amputations instead of applying bandages

Doesn't surprise me, but I'm not on here every week so I couldn't be sure of that. I've never seen it raised.

I agree that it would be difficult and would be amazed if it ever happened but then again SI have had the capacity to amaze in the past. Possibly if it just extended to being Assistant Manager it would be easier to work with.

I fail to see how you could be anything other than the manager, would surely be a tad boring being any other role?

Any other roles would be as eventful and fulfilling as international management pre FM07.
