First and foremost thank you to anyone who can help me on this subject. Here goes:

I have read guides from ter and from abela-wadge.com and it may seem really retarded, but i still find it difficult to understand. They seem to have sufficient detial in some parts, but in others lack detail. I'll show you areas where i get stuck using the abela-wadge.com version:

1.9 Not too sure how to put boxes round a pic, but i don't think that is essential.

1.12 Just to make sure you save in:
CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2005\data\graphics\pictures\ YOUR PICTURES NAME

Here's where i think it gets messy

2.3 Do you save it over where you saved your pic on 1.12 or what? I am fine with the player ID.

2.4 Do i have to save it as:
CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2005\data\graphics\pictures\YOUR PICTURES NAME
It doesn't give me the option to save it as xml, so do i have to put xml on the end?

That's about what i don't understand. ANY reply is thouroughly appreciated.

It doesn't matter where in the graphics folder you save the pictures as long as there is a config file in the same directory that tells the game where to find the picture and what ID to assign it to.

It's very simple to do and both guides should be easy to follow.

So i have done all the work in photoshop right.

Saved my pic to;data\graphics\pictures\players\my player pics\player names.

Then after i have found the players id number, i copy and paste the words in ters' thread into notepad. But what do i save it as? just save to:
data\graphics\pictures\players\my player pics\player names

Is that ok, the two filenames match and are not in capitals.
What is a config.xml file. Is this something i have to type in?

I have the feeling i'm nearly there, just need a little more help.

I just used fm actions tool.

It is saving to config.xml?

I need a bit more depth on where to save it, whether to save it as the ID number or player name, and whether to just add config.xml on the end of either?

You need to get a config file from some of the player pics that came with the game and put that in the folder where your player pictures are.

You then edit that file to use the player pictures you have created by following the instructions provided in the sticky topic.
