While I agree wholeheartedly that piracy is a strict no-no, and that a CD crack could be perceived as piracy, I also maintain a health concern that one day the inevitable will happen and I will damage the CD rendering it unusable.
As copying the CD would be construed as piracy I have no doubt, where does that leave one in pursuit of security of what is now, one’s personal property ?
I work in IT, and as I am sure the vast majority of people who does so would understand, backing up and securing one’s data is all important. It always seems ironic to me, that installing something like XP windows does not require the disc each time to function, whereas playing FM2006 does ???
There has to be a happy solution to this dilemma for the average user.
I too have played this game for many years, still do, and still love it too, but this is one area that I really do feel need addressing.
I am not advocating a “crack” rather a rethink of the licensing that goes with the distribution of the game, and the rights of the purchasing public.
Just my thoughts.
