Hi,

If I want to use the SWAP_TEAMS command in an edt file to swap three teams around can it be done?

Fore example:-

"SWAP_TEAMS" "Madeup United" "Workington"
"SWAP_TEAMS" "Workington" "Telford"

Madeup United is a team I will create using the editor, which I want to play in the Conference North, so I plan to use a two stage SWAP_TEAMS command as above - will that work?

I believe that logically it should work, with the game executing the commands in the order they appear in the edt file, so the first swap would put my made up team in the Conference North and move Workington into NO league, then the secon swap should put Workington into the Northern Premier and put Telford into NO league.

(The reason I don't want to swap them in the editor is so that I can start a game without my made up team simply by removing the edt file and without having to re-enter the editor).

i think you need to create the MADEUP UNITED in the editor
then the SWAP_TEAMS "MADEUP UNITED" " ANYOTHER TEAM"
will work when you start a new game
have done it with FC UNITED it works
make sure the team names are spelt correctly ( case sensitive) or use the ID's

So what you do now is
a) put Madeup in place of Workington
b) put Workington in the Telford place

Reading this, wouldn't
SWAP_TEAM Madup United Telford have the same result?

I've wondered about this in the past - especially with regards to swapping Rangers and Celtic into the Premiership.

The standard thing is to swap them for, say, Wigan and West Brom. But this leaves Wigan and West Brom in the SPL - could you set up a whole string of commands that would sort out the league structures so Wigan and WBA ended up in the Championship, two teams from there got bumped down, etc. etc., and only Scottish teams played in the Scottish league?

Not quite - before using the SWAP_TEAMS function Madeup United aren't assigned to any league/division, Workington are assigned to the Conference North and Telford to the Northern Premier Premier.

So, if I just swap Madeup and Telford I would end up with Telford in no league (as intended) but Madeup would be in the Northern Premier whereas I want them in the Conference North.

Doing the proposed double swap I would end up first with Madeup in the Conference North and Workington in no league THEN the second swap would put Workington in the Northern Premier and Telford in no league.

So, anyone know if this is possible?
