Default Edit now or after next patch?

I have only just received FM2006 today (I live in Tenerife).

I have quite a bit of editing to do eg. create new team and players. Am I ok to:

1. Edit now before the next patch?

2. Install patch 6.01, edit and wait for next patch?

3. Wait for next patch before carrying out any editing?

I am concerned that I put in a lot of work editing only to have to start again when the next patch comes out.

I would be grateful for any advice.

Patch 6.0.1 has a data update in it.
Patch 6.0.2 will not.

Therefore

1. Install game.
2. Patch it with 6.0.1
3. Edit the date to your hearts content.
4. Wait and apply patch 6.0.2
5. Play & enjoy!

Of course you dont have to wait till 6.0.2 comes out to play, edit after patch 6.0.1 and away you go as its very playable after 6.0.1.

U can edit now and install the no-data patch, simply.

I usually create my own team and replace another team in the English Conference North. I then create 4 or 5 young players (including myself!), with -2 potential (Ages 14 to 16) and allow room for stadium expansion.

I´ve tried it before but it doesn´t always work that well for the youngsters as they cannot play for the 1st team until they are 16, despite me arranging friendlies for the U18´s.

Just so you know, -2 does no longer result in a high potential ability. The random PA now goes from -1 to -10 with -10 being the highest.
