I'm Newcastle Utd and my goalkeeper Shay Given, one of the best goalies on the game, keeps making the same mistakes. A pass that's too short or he rushes out and loses the ball, and the opposition scores form 40 yards. It can happen one time, but not 7 times in a season. It's really frustrating. Does anyone know how to prevent this?

I solved this by selling Given for 9.5 million and using Harper instead,also bought Enyeama for 150k.

40 yard shots 7 times? sound like your defenders don't close down enough for starters

I think hes talking about where your keeper just runs out and gets tackled like a idiot.

Maybe he's not as good as you think he is?

Would reducing his mentality and his closing down help?

Also, what distribution is he giving? Because if he's belting balls too far down the pitch in awkward positions, you may want to try "defender collect".

Alternatively, drop him. He may just be a bloody idiot.
