Thank you Lambs , as i always wanted my AMC to be target as he has better stats but i am always confuse target must be the striker . I will try and see how is goes .
It seems that focus passing is not as intense in amount of tried passses as compared to setting your winger as targetman.
With all the cry babies here talking about super goalies, maybe they should try and set their goalkeeper to targetman... maybe that's going to prove something.

I know this has been covered a few times already, but a trawel through the post with a search of height throws up conflicting answers.
"Does the Height of a player have any inpact on the match engine."
As far as I can tell the jury is out?
I ask because both my target men are Lanky strips of pee, but my regen who is learning off Peter Crouch is a tiny 5'6". He has great heading and Jumping, but will his height have an impact?
I would like to think it would, otherwise we are not simulating one of the basic functions of defence, you put your tallest defender on their striker in the box.
Can anyone clear this up with a definate answer and not a theory?
At 5' 6", that may make a difference against a 6' 2" defender.
However, in my experience, jumping and heading are more important than height. My "tall" striker is actually only 6' 1" and regularly beats taller men to the ball due to his high jumping stats. This is in the lower leagues though, so I can't say for definite. However, I would place more emphasis on the stats than the guy's height.
For one thing, you know you're going to get a good header in at goal if the guy's unchallenged.

OK - it's been a while since I read this, and it was written for FM06, but it was from a reliable source on these forums:
Height does not have any impact on the match engine. Only attributes are used here.
But height can be an important attribute when you want to predict how youngsters attributes will develope. Young players might even become taller as the game progress, and that again might mean that jumping improve.
It seems valid in FM07 too. When you look at a young players in the training session, your assistant often remark that player X "is likely to grow in stature as he mature" (or something like that). If the player in question has 12 in jumping, it is fair to assume that he might reach +15, by the time he reach your first team.
