I'm trying to setup individual instructions on each player and i noticed that in every standard tactic the attackers always have "forward runs" and "run with the ball" set to "mixed" and not to "often", i always change it to "often" on both my attackers + i have CD 20 and "thight marking" with both my attackers. Since i don't know very much about tactics IRL and having some problems with understanding the terms used in football i wondered if someone could explain for me how fwd runs and run with ball is commonly used in IRL or in FM
also one other thing i have wondered about, my FC's have a tendacy to play more wide than just keeping themselfs in the centre of the play (i play normal 442 with no arrows whatssoever), usually when attacking they end up in the corners trying to find a pass isntead of be in the penalty yard or near it
Hi, as I understand it, a forward run is when a player surges forward ahead of play and attempts to receive a pass in a forward, attacking position. I like at least one of my strikers to do this, and 'often'. Run-with-ball is how often you want the player to go for a dribble and ignore potential passes. Check your 'dribbling' stat for the player if you want them to run with the ball.
I'm currently playing as a LLM so i don't care much about players skill just trying to create a effective tactic (yes i know its kind of a paradox) that is simple.
When i check the action zones after or during a match i usually wins defence and midfield but i have very few &'s in attack so i'm trying to get better possesion in attack
wow what a different, i changed my 2 strikers "run with ball " to mixed and they started to pass the ball more to their teammates instead of losing the ball in solo raids and thus gained more posseing in attack.
