At the moment i have started playing my third season in Belarus (i enjoy playing in small countries) with MTZ-Ripo, first two seasons i won cup, league. In season two i've changed my tactics from 4-1-2-1-2 to 4-2-4 (two AM's, two FCs) which suited my gameplan excellent. But now in my third season it has become a total disaster, though i am second in the league after 17 matches, far best belarusian players domestically (though allmost all my first-team players left my team after this season, and nobody wants to extend/sign new contracts), i am struggling agaist 3-3-2-1-1 tactic. 4-1-2-1-2, 4-2-4, 4-1-3-2 just seem to don't work. There are times, when the whole match/half passes by without any pitch play (i watch key events). This is getting really frustrating. I've read tactical frameworks and blah blah blah, but the play seems to become more chaotic (because of high creative freedom) and the chances are wasted or even creating less of them. Do you have any particular suggestions ? Help please

I think things have changed a bit from wwfan's thread, but it's an interesting subject. I don't have much problems with this formation anymore. I play narrow down both flanks.

I reduce running with the ball. Only small striker and wingers are allowed to run with ball (mixed). The argument is that the AI Close Down heavily in this formation.

I reduce striker mentality (to 12-14). I play very slow (4), cause patience pays off. The AI close down, so there is going to be room for some good runs.

I focus passing down both flanks. This is the surprising part (combining narrow with down both flanks). But narrow almost annihilates AI's attacking options (You regain possesion immediately)
