well, he wasn't terrible. I ended up using him more as back-up, becasue Castelazzi had amazing form for most of the season. Now I have Pelizzoli, and he is doing amazingly well, so it'll be a while before Costil breaks in to the team. Still worth getting, as Samp do need a youth injection.

Why not? Maybe you could try offering a little cash, (around 200k). It's worth it.

Salvatore Aurelio is the newest star at Samp. I bought him on a co-ownership 1st season, just as back-up. He didn't play much. In the second season, he was supposed to play second fiddle to Gasbarroni, Mitea, Yakovenko and Jaime Valdes. During an Injury crisis, I put him in the team, and he has been indispensable ever since. Managed 10 goals from the left wing, avg rating of 7.56 after 28 games, 12 assists, a major factor in our Scudetto triumph. Called up to the Azzurri for Euro 2008 and was spectacular, playing in every game and getting two assists. This kid is incredibly fast, has a lot of stamina, and while his skills aren't amazing, they get better and are certainly good enough to give mose defences a hell of a time trying to stop him. Highly reccommended.

Second Season Summary:

We won the Scudetto!!!!!!

Sampdoria's second ever triumph was largely the result of three things - a tactical switch to a more adventurous style, Fabio Quagliarella's 19 goals (16 league), and the emergence of Salvatore Aurelio (as detailed above) as a superstar. The league was sealed with one game to go after we beat Palermo as Inter lost to Cagliari. We performed exceptionally in the season, though we went through a bad patch in march where we didn't win for 8 games before a Faty free-kick scraped us a win at Bologna.

Europe was disappointing, though. We performed strongly in the group phase, only to crash out against Man Utd in the last 16. I hope that as we become seeded, we will improve our performances.

So far, I am being patient on the transfer market, with Giuseppe Rossi being my only signing of note, as Foti had some immense problems handling pressure, often losing his grip in big matches. I'm hoping that Rossi and Quagliarella will be the new "Gemelli del Gol". Quagliarella is already the new Mancini, and Rossi could easily be the new Vialli. I did pick up a Hungarian LB, who could become the finest Hungarian defender in history (damning him with faint praise, possibly). I wanted to buy Marco Andreolli, but Inter won't sell despite my great relationship with their boss. I'm trying to keep the team Italian, or at least European, mainly because i think it will give me an advantage in the CL, as I won't have to worry about players being away for internationals. With luck, I can compete well in Europe this season.

i played sampdoria for 7 seasons

3 league titles, 2 copa italia, 1 champions cup, 1 world club cup.

very important to get good goalkeeper.

i have akineev and marcelo grohe as i my keeper.

sort out GK first as it is easier to find good striker than good GK.
