Too much money and I don't know what to do with it...
i'm Barcelona in 11/12 Primera Liga season, in October with 141 million to spend in the transfer window.
I need a right-back, maybe a substitute left back as Juan Manuel Vagas is so far my only left back and a striker as Eto'o isn't cutting it and only two others, Adriano and Martins.
And tell me who to sell! Rijkaard went crazy and bought Moutinho, Jiminez, Marko Marin, Anderson. As Iniesta is my first choice AM, tell me who should I sell? I'm keeping Anderson as he looks one for the future, but are Moutinho, Jiminez and Marin good enough? I use Moutinho as a centre midfielder, Marin and Jiminez sometimes as wingers, as i do not have any backup wingers.

sadly that sod Rijkaard decided not to offer Bojan an increased contract, even tho Barca were 300K below the wage bill
and when Bojan left for Liverpool, He bought Marko Marin.
Brilliant! Absolutely Brilliant!

well, i can either get De Silvestri for 30 mil or Richards for 50 mil. No contest there.
As for a left-back, think i'll go for some cheap backup. As Vargas is quite good already.
Any suggestions for a fourth striker? I play 4-4-2 as i figure since the defence is already leaky, i just have to score more than them to win. Adriano and Eto'o absolutely tearing them apart(well, adriano and martins anyway. Eto'o just got his form)
Any other suggestions? I need to sell people too.

Ah, brilliant stuff, this appears to be the first Barca team I've seen on this forum that will have an element of a challenge to making them the greatest, you have an aging squad and a lot of dead wood.
Please don't tell me you've lost Giovanni Dos Santos as well?
Valdes will do in goal for now, he's not perfect but you have more pressing issues. Puyol, Marquez and Yobo are all getting old and won't be as good. Pique is your only saving grace. You really pretty much need a new defence.
Pure overload going on in the middle of the park. Toure will be able to take over from Xavi as DM very soon if not immediately, Messi is a fantastic winger, Anderson is very good as your AM and Ronaldinho is class but think about getting someone younger to start to take over on the left. Get rid of some of those AMs, Biglia is uneeded and wanted, sell him. Personally, I'd keep Moutinho as backup for now and sell Marin and Jimenez.
Up front, we're aging as well, you might want to cash in one of your strikers to help finance a younger one, but you're rolling in it so that's good.
As for recommendations, it's the usual suspects really and it's going to depend on who you can get because of events in your game.
thanks mike, i've got Barzagli coming in, a Barzagli in his prime is scary so yeah...
trying to get either De Silvestri or Richards...Richards costing too much..., Alves is one option, I'll try to get Sagna.
I want a backup LB, not that good or costly, as Vargas is good.
i'll also try to get Breno, but won't be easy. as for a left midfielder, ronaldinho is doing fine currently.
And yes, Rijkaard did leave me with a substantial job to do. But I'm not World Class for nothing.

Hmmmm, I'm sure you can improve that squad. Drastically!! Thats a bloody old squad mate.
Sell:
Puyol (too old)
Yobo (too old)
Marquez (too old)
Xavi (too old)
Ronaldinho (too old)
Eto'o (because he isnt performing as you say and also last year you can get decent money for him)
Barusso (not good enough imo)
As for signings, you'll have to look around a bit. You have plenty of cash so thats good. And you'll probably make some more by selling the oldies and also free up wages significantly.
CB: Zapata, Albiol, Djourou, Sakho, Cahais, Tuia, Richards, Garay should all be good. Get any 2 (atleast).
LB: The obvious ones. Taiwo, Traore, Insua, Bale, Criscito, Chiellini. Pineda is great and you'll get another 3-4 years out of him atleast. Remember, Cahais & Sakho can play there too if you decide to get either as CB. And Chiellini can play CB if you get him at LB.
RB: De Silvestri, Angulo, Sagna, Rafinha, Behrami, Carlos Diogo.
Bacially, I'd look to get some versatile players in. Although you have 140M + what you get from sales, it'll all start evaporating soon enough if you start buying the best players. I'd recommend getting versatile players (even if you have to pay quite a bit). The basic plan should be 2 have atleast 2-3 players who can cover every position. Alteast 2 who are good at it and one who's decent.
For eg, if you get Micah Richards, he's great at CB, great at RB and great at DM. So he gives you an option in 3 places. If you get Cahais or Sakho, they'll give you cover at CB & LB. If you sign Menez, he'll give you cover in all midfield positions and also at striker. If you get Veloso, he'll give you cover at CB, DM & CM. So get 3-5 players like this in at first and then you can look to expand your squad more next season. Get Behrami if you can and he'll cover RB and AMR/MR for you. All are great players but also give you excellent cover in other areas too.
Also, Biglia, Anderson, Jimenez, Moutinho, Marin are all good enough players mate. If you want to sell a couple, then by all means do so. But I'd definitely recommend holding on to Moutinho & Anderson atleast. Jimenez & Biglia are great players too so just look at some players stats and make a decision. Also if guys like Anderson are not fully developed then send them on loan for a season.
One bit of advice though. I'd recommend you sell the oldies (31 and above) for sure as their stats will be dropping dramatically unless you play them in literally every game of the season. If you decide to keep any of them, then I wont recommend getting an established player as cover as you'll make the newcomer unhappy. In that case you're better off getting a youngster who can develop for a season before he steps into the first team. You do need a lot of changes in that squad though. Good luck.

Sorry mate, couldn't have commented on the left back as he didn't show up on my game.
As for a backup player, see if you can persuade Emiliano Insua of Liverpool to come and sit on your subs bench instead of there's. (Hopefully they aren't playing him!) He's Spanish as well, so no hassle.
