Hello, currently playing with Zenit Petersburg and the summer of 2012 has just rolled around and the European championships have just kicked off in Poland and Ukraine. However I dont think any of the stadiums have changed. I know the construction of the stadium in Donetsk where Shakhtar plays have begun before the game came out so why is Shakhtar still playing in their old stadium? On the other hand my team Zenit have moved into the Gaz-prom arena (jan 2009), and if Im not mistaken only plans have been made but no real construction has started yet. Im pretty sure that the cities in Poland that will host any games will be Poznan (Lech's stadium), Warsawa (new national stadium), Gdansk (Lechia's stadium) and Wroclaw (Slask's stadium) ... the two other alternative stadiums in case something goes wrong in the other locations are Krakow (Wisla's stadium) and Chorzow (current national stadium). I noticed that games for Euro 2012 are being played out in Lodz !! (LKS Lodz stadium) which has only 9,500 seats but has a capacity of around 25,000 ... kind of weird for these sorts of championships (: Im really dissapointed with the stadiums especially in Poland, Im not exactly sure about the construction in the Ukraine because I havent looked into that much. Was there simply not enough research being done ? There is ongoing work on the Lech Poznan stadium for example and same thing in Krakow on the Wisla stadium , I know that the football association in Poland (PZPN) is implementing higher standards, cities in the 1st division with a population of atleast 500,000 will need to have 30,000 seat stadiums atleast, with 3 sections of the stadium covered, the smallest stadiums will have to be atleast 10,000 as well. Im curious if there will be something done in this area?
