Cm's getting tired - Tactics problem?
I always find that my 2 CM get very tired in the games. Is this a result of tactics or is it just normal that they become more tired than others due to their position?
They all have good stamina ratings and start the game at 95-100 stamina, but by 60 or 70 minutes they be at 70 or less.
The reason it is a problem is they are my defenders in the middle, and I always have to sub them when I am up a goal late in the game.

Does me asking questions on a forum look like a blog to you?

maybe you have lot of space between lines, so midfields have plenty of space to cover. Or you ar playing short passing and they run pass the ball. Or you let them to RWB, or FWR. Or creative freedom, free role, or high closing down. Could be LOTS of things.

Sorry I can't get a pic right now but here are their instructions:
Mentality: A few ticks to the defensive side
Creative Freedom: Middle
Passing: Just above short
Closing Down: own Half
Run with ball: Medium
No free role
no playmaker
I play a 4-4-2 formation with my wingers pushed up into AM and AML. The RB and LB do not have farrows so they do not push up.
Based on those instructions I would assume that I am not asking them to do too much, as they are pretty straight-forward and basic. Perhaps it is my formation that causes them to cover too much ground with the AMR and AML being pushed up the wings?

How old are they? Seems like a silly question, but my youngsters die towards the end of games.
I always have my central midfielders sent off (44 games, 16 red cards in the two cm positions)
I know which predicament I'd prefer =p

MartÃ*n Demichelis - 28
Jose Sosa - 22
Andrea Ottl - 23
I sold Van Bommell but it used to happen to him as well. All these guys have 15 or higher stamina.
THe only guy that is not so much affected by this is Jean Makoun because he has a 20 stamina rating. he gets tired too but not to the point where he has to be pulled off.

That doesn't sound like you've got anything untoward there, and at 15 stamina it shouldn't be a problem. What's their "work rate"? I always had conditions problems when I had guys with 19-20 work rate and middling stamina (10-12). It doesn't sounds like that's it.
Okay - got to run through a host of questions for you:
1. Initial (boxed) game? First beta patch? Or second beta patch?
2. Are they actually "match fit", or do they show as "Lacking Match Fitness"?
3. You said they start at 95-100: pay close attention, is it 95, or is it 100?
4. What are their "Forward run" settings?
5. What is your team "Mentality" setting?
6. What is your team "Tempo" setting?
7. What is your team "Defensive Line"?
8. Did you do an exhaustive / intensive pre-season training regime for them?
9. How intense is their current training regime?
10. How intense is their *aerobic* training?
I'm not running a flat 4-4-2, and this isn't happening to me with a DMC/AMC diamond midfield. So either its a problem with the MC position specifically, its a training thing, or its a tactical instructions thing.
Tactically, it sounds like they're doing a lot of work box-to-box, and I'm looking for a reason why. Also, do they cover that gap between the pushed-forward wingers and the sitting-back fullbacks? If so, you might turn down their closing-down even further.
Training-wise, well, its at least something to look at.
