Default PATCH DOES NOT INSTALL IN CORRECT PLACE AND DOES NOT APPLY
I have downloaded numerous copies of the patch and ran the .exe file to update the game. However when I start the game it still says version 8.0 and it seems the patch is not installed. Also any changes made through the Editor are not available when I start a new game.

It seems to install to an update folder and does not overwrite any database

First things first - is it definitely the correct patch? 8.01 yes? And you've closed the game when installing?

you probably haven't chosen the new database then.

and don't you have to specify the new directory the games in if you dont install it to the default directory? is that what your diong wrong?
