Default The closing of Threads by moderators - my concern...

Can mods please add a Post explaining why they are closing them. Sometimes a perfectly good (in my opinion) seeming thread gets closed for no aparant reason.

One of my own today did, with hindsight was maybe in wrong forum, which I now feel a little guilty about but if knew what id done / said wrong I could make sure not to trangress again.

I know they are busy and maybe thats the reason for this, and they have to be there and do a good job etc, but the phrase "load of little Hitler's" springs to mind right now, TBH.

OK this will get closed for sure but the original question, seriously asked, still stands.

From what I can tell, it's pretty obvious why most threads are closed. They either break the rules in some obvious way such as by naming players, or they are clearly posted in the wrong forum. As well as that, there's the myriad threads asking about the next patch, which deserve swift closure.

Still, a brief explanation might be nice for cases like yours, where either the reasons are not clear, or you're a new/less-than-regular user who isn't totally familiar with how the forums operate. I hope I haven't insulted you with that one!

I closed your thread earlier for two reasons, firstly it had nothing to do with FM and secondly there were already similar threads about which had already been closed. Sorry if that wasn't clear, I do usually give a reason but I thought that one was pretty obvious.

The reasons for the majority of threads being closed can be found here.

Thanks. I do appreciate the clarifiaction and though I dont agree with all the points you raised I do see where you are coming from. As you will see from my Post history I dont make a habit of being a "git".

I wouldn't worry about it so much. Plenty of sensible, intelligent threads get closed because they just aren't wholly appropriate for the forum. It happens. I often find myself digressing wildly from the subject of FM on the forums. Maybe I'm a 'git'.

In my opinion, it's not exactly "closing down" that is the issue, more "positional awareness" of players closing down if that makes sense.
