Sorry if this has already been discussed on here. This is the first time I've been on the forum.
Got FM for Christmas and been playing my first game on it and I'm struck by how unrealistic the expectations of the board are. My first game was at Man City. First season finished 8th, second season finished 6th, got to semis of League Cup and quarters of UEFA, was well under wage budget, club making profit every month. But the board decided to sack me.
I thought it was harsh but accepted that sometimes stuff like that happens. Couple of months later I took the job at So'ton who were bottom of the Championship, about 10 points adrift of safety. I went on an 11-game unbeaten run, lifting us up to 19th. But when I checked, my job status was 'very insecure' because the board were angry that the club were battling relegation. But obviously this was the previous managers fault and I'd done everything right. Then when I lost a game, sure enough I got sacked.
I've been playing CM/FM for 10 odd years now and have never seen anything like this. Is this a common problem? Have the updates done anything to sort it out?

Apolagies for the rather idiotic comment by Galactus.Unfortunately more and more comments like that are poping up.
As per your post yeah the board expectations has been troublesome this year as its the first time SI has put it in the game.
You should check out the patch fix list,i cant remember off hand if it addresses the problem.
If it doesnt just keep plugging away and the results will come.

Cheers. Glad I'm not the only one suffering. I'll have a look at the patches. It's a shame cos otherwise the game seems pretty decent. Would've thought that the problem would've been noticed during testing. It's quite an obvious one.
Just hope that the expectation get tuned down to its reasonable level since those are "Minimum expectations".
It doesn't matter how much money they give for transfer fund and salary. At some points, there're no more room for expansion or getting anymore better players. Yet expecting the manager to win everything is ridiculous.
In fact, Confidence feature is the ONLY major flaw that I hope to get fixed in the next patch, any other bugs I can still take those.
Regarding to your issue, I think you need to win some, if not one, trophies for them. In my game, Sven never finished in top 4, but he'd win cups like league cup/ FA cup or UEFA cup and he's still in charge in 2015 in my game.
