Honestly!
That's the dumbest thing which most sports-simulations are doing nowadays.
If you want a real match, you see:
<LI> One or two players who play on after the whistle: a defender continuing to chase a loose ball, the offsides striker continuing to bear down on the 'keeper, or a rugby wing continuing down the sideline towards his try even though he knows it just got whistled back
<LI> players running at speed slow into a jog, and loop back to where they need to be, rather than coming to an immediate hard stop.
<LI> goalkeepers never believe a whistle - it could have come from the crowd, so they always stop a ball from getting into their net.
You watch a computer game, and you'll see everybody stop immediately at the whistle. The goalkeeper will even let a ball go past him into the net after a whistle, and its .. annoyingly unrealistic!
This is more of a problem to me in the console games - FIFA, Madden, etc - than in FM, for some reason, but it does bug me wherever I see it!
