Default Skins not in drop down menu

Hi,

Before you ask, I have searched and read all relevent stickies. Also, I posted this on the Stone Skin Thread but with no response.

I have installed the stone skin and the silver stone skin, extracted them to the data/graphics/skins/ folder but with no joy - they do not show up on the drop down menu. Why might this be?

Also, i posted a long while ago about player pictures but no one could help. I've followed all conceivable instructions (believe me) but they refuse to show up. Why might this be?

Ta,

Oli

in the \data\graphics\skins, you will have 1 folder for each skin.

in that folder should be an xml file called the same as the skin (ie. \data\graphics\skins\aurora\aurora.xml).

it sounds like your skin files are in another folder (ie. \data\graphics\skins\aurora 2.0\aurora\myskin.xml).

if that's the case, right click on the folder called 'aurora' then go to the skins folder and right click and select paste.

I'm using aurora as an example here, obviously you'll be looking for the skin name here. Hope that makes some sense.

4th line should read:

right click on the aurora folder and select cut, then paste in the skins folder.

Thanks for the help GavinG, but that was the first thing I checked. The specific XML files are in a folder with the skin name and that is in the data/skins/ folder. All as should be, but no joy.

I have a feeling that the games isn't reading any XML alterations I make, as that would explain my player pictures problem too. Has this happened to anyone - is this a known problem?
