There are obviously a lot of idiots on here like me who aren't computer whizzes.
So could someone make a real decent attempt to write a step by step idiots guide to adding all this stuff.
Pleeeeeeeeeease. I'm tired of scrolling through thread after thread of questions with no answers. You shouldn't have to be a PC whizz to enjoy a football game.
That tells you all you need to know. You don't need to be a computer whizz to create a new folder in the right place and add files to it. That's why people get very few replies when this same question is asked for the millionth time. A few people might be going wrong by not unzipping stuff first perhaps, I don't know, but it's hardly rocket science.
Ok well, I haven't seen my question asked before. Help me and i'll go away!
Added skin to folder, can see it on game, untick cache button, tick reload on confirm.
Says adding image data for new skin, how long should this take?! I have waited 10 mins a few times, seems like is crashing my pc to me. And before you ask, pc is of decent standard.
Sounds like you've got it in the right place if you can see it but the waiting means something is wrong. The game is looking for files it cannot find.
Few things:
1. Is it unzipped or unrar-ed? Skins need to be either a .fmf file or a folder with the same name as the skin NOT .zip or .rar.
2. Make sure your folder structure is correct. Sometimes when unzipping an extra level of folder can be created. It should be:
".../skins/skinname/skinname.xml" + other folders.
NOT
".../skins/skinname/skinname/skinname.xml" + other folders.
skinname is the whatever the skin is called. Folder and .xml file should be called exactly the same thing.
3. Make sure the skin is for FM2008, skins for FM2007 do not work properly.
4. Failing that, download the skin again deleting the version you have now and see if that helps.

Yeah, for some people it is rocket science! I followed the instructions, I had to create a Graphics folder, I unzipped the files and they are still not showing. Any ideas why?
