I got the game the day it camer out and all was well with installation in that. then i edited the game and made a new club with me and my mates on the team (just saying this incase it helps for the solution to my problem). Then i saved that and by the way i did make a backup. anyway all went smoothly and what i did is now in the game so im happy with that but now when i try to edit again it comes up with a screen saying "the data file 'client_db' is read only and cannot be opened for editing. AGHHHH!!!! what do i do. if anyone can help in any way then thank you very much in advance. cheers all hope someone can help.

Oh and i forgot to say, when i followed the filepath to find client_db i found it and clicked properties and it does not have read only ticked but still editor doesn't work because of it.

Which client_db file did you look at? The original one or the backup copy?

as far as i could tell there was only one. i just followed the filepath which it shows when you load your game.
prgram files - sports interactive - football manager - data - db -
and then there it is.

Oh and sorry about this but one more thing, if it turns out no-one knows how to help then do you know of any way i could totally reset the database without using the editor?

You said you made a backup so there should be a second copy
Anyway, you could search your PC for all files called client_db and make sure none of them (if theres more than one) are read-only.
Also, the editor accesses server_db not client_db.... is that what you meant?

nope. i know when you go into load game on the editor and the file is server_db but when the box definately says client_db. also i have already tried searching my computer for all client_db files. i found a couple from other cm's and made sure none were read only. i am really stumped with this one.
