I'm trying to use the editor to recreate in effect what Al Fayed did with Fulham (big cash injection and move the team up the leagues)
I decided to do this with a small scottish 2nd division side. I used the offical editor and changed some settings, increased the rep and money of the club. However I think I went a little overboard, bringing in players was easy however going into every game I'm massive favorites even when I play prem teams in the cup the opposing team are always referred to as minnows.
The players I bought weren't massive stars by any means, so I take it this is down to the reputation of the club rather than the quality of player ?
I'm just looking for some sort of hints as to what settings I should use in the editor, I'm looking to attract players and be successful but I don't really want to be referred to as a massive team when I'm only in the 2nd divison, I'd like to build up to be a big team.
Reset the database and just tick cash injection or sugar daddy.
If you put the rep up then it'll make things too messed up.
If you don't touch the rep though, you'll find it hard to attract world class players - but you can still go for plenty of players, especially young players in droves and see if you can turn any of them into stars. Give them long contracts!
