I would have thought you can just send the saved game rather than the whole db. Save game should still use your db from your computer while his db will stay the same.
If your mate wants to start a new game with your db then you make a new game and save it on day one and send that over.
Basically I made a team of my group of friends and one of them who has the game, also would like to be able to play with them. It was a brand new team and new players. If he can have the team in a seperate saved game, that would be good, as he could start games with the normal settings. Does the game copy a new database each time a new game is created? So all he would need to have all the teams settings is a saved game. I suppose the only problem is I dont know his computer settings (ie how many leagues he has)
Start a new game with only the nation/leagues that your new-team is in and save this game.
Go to My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2005\games folder.
Search for your savegame in this folder and copy this game to a cd.
Give cd to your friend and let him/her copy this savegame to his/hers My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2005\games folder.
Start FM and load the savegame.
Now your friend can play with this game too.
This does NOT alter his/hers database.
This does NOT have effect on his/hers savegame(s).
This will NOT put this team in a NEW of OLD game on your friends computer.
Important: I think you must have the same version of the game (for instance 5.0.5) but data-updates can be whatever you like. If you have FM 2006, you look in the FM 2006 folder instead of the FM 2005 folder.
