hi all, just a quick question. Ive always understood in the past that it was not possible to view the tactics the ai use or to use them as the human player, im not sure if these tactics are even preset or whether the ai adapts to the human players tactic on the fly. But ive found 2 tactics directories in my football manager/data folder, one is called preset tactics and one is called tactics, both containing quite a few .tac files. what are these 2 folders, are either of these the ais tactics? help would be very much appreciated.

I think "tacics" folder is used by the AI, but the tactics are bases for AI's manager instructions. So i'm not sure this will be usefull to you

The only way to possibly view a managers tactics would be to get a real time programme that could capture them. The 2 folders you found are just 1 is the presets youi see in a list. The other folder is just presets that you can use too, from past versions of the game etc.

Another question. if you deleted all the standard tactics in the tactics folder but les lets say the 442 or something like that would this limit the cpu teams to use 442?

No, they'd just recreate it in game.

That doesn't work though, because the managers don't create their tactics until you enter a game. So if you renamed the tactics, they'd still turn it into their preffered formation.

Or did this sarcasm fly over my head, im confused

I have to admit, I've tried to 'peek' at the AI tactics to see if they were really customizing. I tried using the 'old' tactics, they work, but they are like Cleon said, old.

I tried playing two human managers and going on vacation with one while playing a friendly between the two, but alas, although I could switch users, the vacationing manager was left at home and didn't catch a ride to the game to spy on his Assistant....

I've yet to try lover's technique to disable them, as that's not what I'm after. I just want to see how much they are using things like 'opposing moves', etc...
