I was having problem with my tactics and finance at FC Barcelona so I basically went on holiday for the whole season and I got back with the team winning basically everything except ECC and Super Cup (which I won it myself later). Now the club is doing fine, I've sign Jesus Navas (AMR, FC), Kabuol (DC, DM), Rafinha (WB/D R), a WBL I forgot what name and a towering striker who lead the league in terms of goals.
What do you think about my new signings? I seem to be heavily hit with injuries from match. For example, in one match I lost Eto, Gudjohnson and Navas for few months and then in the next match I lose the new striker I sign. How do I avoid such injuries?
And can anyone confirm this with me? You can do fine in FM2006 with no change in the training schedule. I created some position specific schedule and now I see them do a whole lot better. Eto was misfiring like crazy before this.
This season, I haven't had much of a problem with injuries, I avoid them by following several simple rules:
1. I always have a decent preseason training regime that focuses on strength/aerobics/tactical
2. When the season starts my emphasis on both will drop to just below medium and the rest take precedence. The intensity is kept to medium, no one trains on heavy.
3. When deciding who to play I never select anyone below 90, but there are exceptions, say for players returning to full fitness after an injury, they will come on in the last 15 mins of a game.
4. During any game, I will pay attention to their condition, some people look at formations when they run the match, i split between player ratings and match ratings. When a player drops suddenly I will prepare to take him off, becos his natural fitness is not high enough for him yet to play 90.
5. When choosing who to start, I seldom pick players with a lot of red arrows..they usually don't play well anyway, and some of them actually get injured.
6.I don't see the need to play a match on normal tackling/heavy tackling unless you have the players for it. Stick frontmen on easy, even wingers and fullbacks can be on easy, their job is to deny space to cross.
7.Having a good physio helps, having 2 is better.
8. During the december period, pay very close attention to training and match conditions, if you notice that players are beginning to pick up minor knocks, you could reduce the intensity of training a bit. The matches are invariably played on heavy pitches as well, so you may want to consider subbing and rotations as a way to keep your players condition high.
9. If during a match you notice that the players conditioning is dropping relative to the other team, your conditioning is poor, your training schedules are probably too rigorous. Even if you play a high closing down game you should have some players in your squad who have physical conditions of 80-90% at the end of a match. I usually have third of my team at 90%...this shows that your players are very fit.
