my tactic that seems to work for every team, but needs to be improved further
Hello,
i just thought i would share my tactic with you and hopefully improve it further.
I dont know how to post screenshots and cant be arsed to work out how to.
My formation is a 4-1-3-2
a flat back four
one defensive midfielder
a right winger with a farrow
a left winger with a farrow
a central midfielder with a farrow
and two strikers
Team Tactics
For Home games and games i expect to win
mentality around 13
passing- direct about 16
width - very wide 20
tempo - very fast 20
tackling - hard
i play zonal marking
and target man, though i dont tick this until the game starts ( thanks somebody who posted that already)
my full backs are set to mentality of 4
normal forward runs, and team for everything else, crosses are ticked and from deep
my centre backs are mentality 0/1, no forwad runs
defesive midfielder, mentality 5 no forward runs, through balls ticked
wingers are mentilty 14, have farrows, dribbling, through balls and crossing ticked, forward runs often
central midfielder has farrow, through balls, mentality 14, forward runs often
my strikers, left hand side speedy finisher, forward runs attacking 20, plays through balls
right hand side is my target man, hold up ball, plays through balls, attacking 20 and forward runs.
When the match starts, i set opposition instructions, to watch closely, close down, weak foot, all strikers, wingers, and att mid, or central mids who can play att mid
i then man mark strikers, with my cen defenders
player in the hole with def mid
any cent mids likely to push forward with my cent mid
I try to contantly watch the game for changes of formation from opposition, if i seem to be on the back foot, i sometimes push back def line, mentality and got to counter attacking. Basically i try to adapt to the opposition.
I have tested this with chelsea primarily to great success, followed by birmingham city ( a mid table prem team by the time i got bored), redditch united who i took into the league in three seasons, and sporting lisbon, who keep on ****ing the portugese league.
for matches i think i may be on the backfoot, my mentality drops to 7, def line to 7 and i play conuter attacking, and full back to no forward runs, and i change the width to narrow.
It seems to be working really well, but would appreciate any input, i cant see any obvious weaknesses with it, but its still not perfect.

my tactic that seems to work for every team, but needs to be improved further Post #2
come on people make my tactic better, all the other one ive tried havent worked but this does, and i want to make it the best.
i am currently deciding whether to try an employ a playmaker in my defensive midfielder role, i read a thread yesterday about it, and i can just see my def mid spraying it around and dictating play but am too scared to upset the balance of my team
i am also worried about the fact i do a lot of man marking and my players being pulled around and leaving gaps for the opposition to exploit, this is where i seem to leak a few goals, but on the other hand it stops a lot of opposition play, so their is definite scope for improvement their.

i dont know really, as it is not perfection, it can be improved,
from the start it worked really well, with chelsea (obviously) and then with birmingham, but little tips from here have made it better, like the taget man by someone, minimal fuss?
oh by the way you have to give it a few games before it properly kicks in
