I see Rushing Out, Eccentricity, and Tendency to Punch as being negative for a GK. Am I right in saying that the lower the attribute for these the better? I cannot see these attributes having any benefit at all, but rather as a weakness for a GK.
A GK rushing out all the time from his box will always be at risk being lobbed.
A GK that is highly Eccentric will make many mistakes ie, taking on players with the ball at his feet.
And a GK that has a high tendency to punch will obviously punch the ball more often when a simple catch would be much more beneficial, and therefore exposing his goalface.

Yes I do the same thing as well...I rather not have these...but personally I kinda make exceptions for rushing out..I don't want too low an attribute either cos sometimes I like to play my keeper as a sweeper, especially if he has a long kick

i agree with the you on most of these except with rushing out, i've always viewed it as a positive attribute, a keeper thats rushing out cuts out the angle of the shot and the striker has less of a goal to aim at.
as for getting lobbed, i believe the 'Decisions' attribute plays more of a role than rushing out

I just see Rushing out as a big advantage for a gk,
as in getting to a deep bal first, before the quick opposing striker, who just left your old, slow central defenders behind.
Generally the things I look for first, when buying a goalkeeper, Reflexes, High Balls and Rushing out.

Just make sure that if a goalkeeper has a high rushing out stat he also has a high acceleration, pace and decisions stat.
Because of this I usually avaid high rushing out, because I like to keep my goalkeepers very long and with aging their physical stats will drop.

I think Tendency to punch isn't that much of a bad thing. I situations such as corners, it is sometimes safer to punchthan to try and grab the ball.
When looking for a keeper i look for about 10 points for tendency to punch

Tendancy to punc and rushing out works both ways...
A keeper with low tendancy to punch may try and catch a high ball that is impossible to hold on to(through a big crowd of players etc...)
I'd say 10 for both. combined with high decision making would be the perfect levels.

I'd assumed that "rushing out" was how good he was at it, no how ofter he does it - otherwise it would be "tendency to rush out" as it is for punching. Because of this, I think it's a good attribute because the keeper is very good at rushing out at the right time to close angles down or to claim a cross etc.

| Yes that had always been my understanding of it too. I haven't based that on any actual facts however, it was just the way I initially thought it was to be interpreted.

as i'm not really sure 'bout these stats, i look for something like that
eccentricy (it's not that bad, especially when it comes to penalties...) - around 10 or less
tendency to punch - 5
rushing out - around 10-15
