for the first time, I thought i'd share a home made tactic.
This tactic has brought me some pretty decent results with my sicilian team, going very well in the Serie A (just promoted).
It's basically a 4-3-3, with a DMC and 3 ST's, but the tactics are very different.
First things first, if you want to download it, it's on the bottom of this post.
Second things second, screens and instructions:
Nothing spectacular as you can see. I'm not one of the fancy settings and stuff. Play good football and win, do they do that, then I won't complain or change.
Then the players
Goalkeeper;
I used Ustari, and i'm not sure if it is because of his stats, but he's playing a lot as a goalkeeper-sweeper (could be the attacking minded tactic as well).
DC;
Nothing special, they stay back and clear, like every other CB. No special 'upcoming' or 'manmarking/freemarker' tactics.
DR/RL;
Again nothing special, they have default instructions, so will run if possible forward, and stay back if needed.
My defence has been one of the best of the Serie A, with the likes of Fabio Aurelio, Hubschman,Aurujo and Andreolli i consider that pretty good, since these players are definately not the same as the milan, roma or inter defence.
Midfielders;
As DMC i have a very little technical and very much mental DMC (Linderoth). Apart from 'very defensive' and 'hold ball' nothing special, all settings are team-related to make sure everyone is doing the same thing.
The wingers; Uprunning MR and ML.
They are not supposed to be like C Ronaldo or Robben, more like ehm...well don't know, a bit like Overmars used to. Just wingers on the midfield, not in the attack. They do run forward at times, but only to cross.
I used Montolivo (not really the overmars kinda guy, but doing fine) and Jimenez. The right winger has much more freedom to do anything he wants (Since i want Jiminez to be a bit roaming, but not to much up front). This makes it very hard to stop incoming crosses from the right, more because the left wing keeps crossing. The right winger is therefore harder to 'understand' as a opposing team.
The attacking line;
As you can see: 3 central attackers, two of them with back arrow. They all 3 switch positions with eachother, a bit like the Barcelona Triangle, but a lot more centered. Come to think of it; it's opposed to Barca. They use a FR/FC/FL/MC/MC formation, i'm using the MR/ML/FC/FC/FC-one. Wings on the midfield instead of attack.
To make this succeed you really need 3 totally different strikers. This will make man-marking difficult, as when you set a tall defender to mark the tall, aerial-striker, the next moment he could be marking the quick small dribbler and therefore useless.
I'm using a fast one (Lavezzi), a tall one (Foti) and a all-rounder (Vucinic).
I think it takes a while for your players to settle, especially the attackingline need to feel eachother (with the positioning and such), but give me all your critism and cheers .
I'm planning on set pieces, but since i change my first eleven pretty much i'd rather not put player(name)-related instructions
I've somehow made it into winning the titel, just as i've promoted last year.
Note: i've got a team comparable to current palermo due to home made team with pretty good finances (started in serie C).
I have some quality players, but only in first eleven, so i consider this to be very special. (money can't do anything, thank god).
I added btw a sweeper instead of two dc's, see the sweeper thread in this section.
Made Aurajo captain (influence 20, but young), to make sure he organizes the defence.
