Hello i was wondering will the AI change any of its tactics if you play with no strikers. I was kind of hoping this would make it move its defensive line up a few notches therefore making counter attack easier.

I was think of having 2 attacking midfielders instead of attackers with arrows going forward - any tried this?

i already tried it . but it fails miserably.

indeed, the lack of offensive opportunities is fatal ! but i only tested it for 4 or 5 games .

Does the couter-attack not counter this (so to speak.) I mean surely the opposition will leave big gaps in behind and if you have quick midfielders you can run on to thru-balls.

But they'd have to run a bloody long way.

I suppose you could put forward runs often and a really high mentality (18-20), but that would probably make them too selfish and unwilling to defend, which would defeat the point of playing them at AM in the first place.

It could work, but I'll let someone else commit suicide with it first before I take a dip in that murky pool.

I use a version of that, though very rarely to finish some tough games when I have score advantage. I put a DM and 2 MCs on quite defensive and low creative freedom and in front of them I put AML-AMC-AMR with arrows all towards the box. Needless to say counterattack and mixed or direct passing, the speed and the width depending on my players on the pitch. The advantage is that you win a ton of balls in the midfield and that AI usually can't counter it. You won't get too many oppurtunities to score but when you do, it will be a good chance..
