who do u usually give the free role to? the amc? or do u not use free role at all?

I tend to give it to a very creative AMC or my none target man striker if he has pace and creativity.

Any one else tends to get out of position.

Never tried it on a sweeper or goal keeper, but that does sound like a receipe for disaster.

How do I tell if a player can play in a free role?

Free Role is a hidden attribute, you give this role to people who has high ratings in their "Free Role"

as far as i know theres no way to gauge that hidden attribute. i dl fmscout earlier to try check it out but nowhere do i find it stated.
anyone can help out here?

In fm06 I used to have my dmc play a free role just in front of the back four. It worked pretty well on that version. I haven't played this type of dmc on 07 though so I don't know if it will be as effective.

I play standard 4-4-2 and i give free role to may left midfield. i really depends on what tactics you use.

Easy way to find out if your not sure on a player is check is profile out he will have playmaker or foward playmaker in his personal information. there the ones that are normaly very good in the free role
