Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

In team instructions, have you set your tackling to hard. If its set at hard, drop it down to normal.

Then hopefully you might see a change.

What tackling do you use? If you use easy then players will give away less freekicks as a rule. Or maybe its just a select few players who are giving the freekics away and not the whole team. Try and look at who is giving them away and then look at how hes set up, its probably just a case of altering there tackling to easy though.

You may also get this if the team are stretched, i.e., if your defenders are constantly getting caught out and having to chase the opposition and making tackles from behind.

Easier tackling on the main offenders may help, perhaps a little less closing down and maybe playing a bit tighter (narrower, higher line) to make sure you're not constantly chasing after the ball.
