I would also develop up the overall team tactics to assist Berbatov.
He loves being the Target Man - generally I play balls to feet as most good defenders will win majority of aerial battles against him anyway (play to head if you realise the marking defender is considerably shorter than him though). Nevertheless Berbatov has great skills on the ground so give him much creative freedom.
But what I find most useful is investing in good wingers and playing down both flanks and crossing from bylines. Berbatov will head those crosses in no problem especially at the near post - i found that he scores about 33% of his goals in this fashion when I had him.
