Guys,

I'm thinking of starting a new long-term save game since I am well into an 07 save but need to add more leagues. This is not something I can do mid save unfortunately (would be nice if I were able to add new active leagues during close seasons).

So it made me think it could be the point at which I move from 07 (which I've enjoyed immensely) to 08 once the supposedly final patch is released. I'm not the kind of person that likes to tinker with a game in anticipation of starting all over again when another patch is released (I know you don't always have to start over).

However, there are some things in the demo that bugged the heck out of me and I was wondering if those playing 08 could answer some questions?

- Skin
I presume there are many facelifts available on the Net now? No doubt complete with badges, kits etc.

- Split Inbox
I remember the inbox being split into two, I cant remember what goes into each box but I like to read all the news and it going into one box (i.e. the old method) was fine. Is there a way of having just one inbox? Is there a fix out there? Do you get used to it?

Anything else that annoyed me will hopefully be eradicated with this final patch. IIRC the goalkeeper settings changing when making subs was fixed (yes?) and I would hope the amazing ability for the game to lose your newly created tactics settings has gone too.

What about crazy news messages? In 07 I've seen a few new managers joining clubs only for the media to report they will have a tough task keeping them in the division (despite it being mathematically impossible for them to go down and in many cases, they are in the running for the title!).

I got used to the new skin quite quickly and now really like it. But yes, there are plenty of alternatives around. Head over to the Editors Hidaway forum to find out more.

Basically with this your main inbox now only contains news that is directly related to you or your team. So you still get news here concerning players on your transfer list etc but, for example, you only get news about player or manager of the month if you or one of your players is in the top 3.
You can't combine the inbox, and while it is still a little annoying you do get used to it and the other news is only a click away.

Ackter did a really good skin that reduced the brightness somewhat, as apart from that I really like the layout of the new skin.

Alternatively you can just turn down your brightness, as I find that most LCDs (even LCD TVs) have their brightness or backlight set to the max as this provides stunning images when demoing but not so when you get them home.
