"You have faith" - the team talk that has super powers!
If this has been brought up before I apologize - I find it tough to use the search feature accurately on the forums.
Anyway - I just wanted to comment on the team talks, in particular the ability to tell players "You have faith in their ability".
It's an individual team talk that is there at least 95% of the time for pre-match and half-time team talks, and it seems to have super human capabilities. My sample size is based on over 120 matches as Newcastle boss. Over that time period, with a variety of players, I have not seen one player have a negative reaction to it. Instead, all you get is either "Nothing specific noted", or very positive reactions.
Has anyone else noticed this? Or am I missing something here? Because otherwise, saying that to my players each week basically feels like I'm cheating at the game, a feeling that I really hate. Again, apologies if this has already been discussed.

I assume you are patched up to 8.01 ?
If so then it looks like you've certainly stumbled on something interesting to say the least. How are your results going ?

Yep, 8.01. And results have been great for the most part(5th season 1 in EPL, 2nd season 2, currently 100% record after 9 games in season 3).

I stopped using that option because it didn't seem to have much of an impact on how my players perform.
I have also read that EPL players don't like the hard line approach - again I tried softly softly and it didn't work...they seem to react the harsh words when warranted.

Telling someone that you have faith in them will generally cheer them up, regardless of the situation. However it may not always be enough to make them go out and win. I'm not sure how the game works this, but in reality there is a difference between happiness and motivation.
I'd rather have a ****ed off player who's banging in goals to prove me wrong than some little arse who's bobbing along because i've told him he's pretty good.
